About the Kevin Daly Bursary Fund

The Kevin Daly Bursary Fund has been created as part of the lasting legacy that celebrates the life and character of Kevin.

$2,500 scholarships will be awarded annually to students that are attending post-secondary education in Canada and who have been touched by ALS personally or through a family member.

Our desire is to ensure these funds are used to assist and support families that have the greatest need within this community.

What is ALS?

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (also known as ALS, Lou Gehrig’s disease, or motor neuron disease) is a disease that progressively paralyzes people because the brain is no longer able to communicate with the muscles of the body that we are typically able to move at will.

Over time, as the muscles of the body break down, someone living with ALS will lose the ability to walk, talk, eat, swallow, and eventually breathe.

Learn more about the early signs and symptoms, how ALS is diagnosed and how it progresses.

If you or someone you know is living with ALS, take advantage of ALS Canada's resources to help make day-to-day life with ALS less overwhelming and more manageable.

The ALS Society of Canada is working to change what it means to live with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, an unrelenting and currently terminal disease. Our vision is a future without ALS.

Our mission is our everyday journey as an organization.

We work with the ALS community to improve the lives of people affected by ALS through support, advocacy and investment in research for a future without ALS.
